Sept. 10, 2012

Fall is almost here, love the cooler weather!

This week 8th grade will be working on fractions, rational and irrational numbers.  Some of the fractions will be review to cement their prior knowledge and have a greater competency working with fractions.  Students will have homework in the Algebra To Go textbook, which will be most often than not reading homework.

7th grade is also working with fractions, rational and irrational numbers this week.  The TEKS requirements for 8/7th grades are very similar for the first few weeks.  Homework will be in the Math in Focus  textbook, along with projects and other worksheets during the year.

6th grade is working on greater than and less than, negative and positive integers, prime factorization and common multiples.  Students will be doing an independent Prime Factorization project, also.

5th grade will continue working on place value, greater than and less than, and rounding large numbers.  Homework will be assigned from the MIF workbook, in addition, students may have other worksheets and projects throughout the year.

Have a great week!

Mrs. Hartman
