This week 7th grade will continue their work on Integers by multiplying and dividing integers. 7th grade has been adding and subtracting positive and negative integers, and quoting the mantra..."Add its Opposite!".
6th grade will begin to unravel the wide world of integers using numberlines to determine value and along with negative integers, we will also be introducing Absolute Value.
8th grade's lessons will focus on Unit Rate, Ratios & Percentages. This week 8th grade students are learning about real-life financial mathematics. They are given a budget of $10,000 to purchase a car that will transport them to their first year of college and to a part-time (20 hrs. per week), minimum wage job. They must determine the gas usage, using unit rate calculations and determine whether they can afford the car expenses!
5th grade continues down the rode of multiplication and division, using real-life word problems. Introduction to this week's lesson asked the students whether life gives us an written mathematical expression during our daily lives or does it ask us to "figure it out!". Life is one huge word problem!
Thank you to all for your support of the Fall Festival. We are still waiting for some of the tickets sales money to be handed in by early next week.
