October 3, 2011

Love the cool crisp mornings!
6th grade will be working on Squares and Square Roots Lesson 1.4 in their Math in Focus textbook. We will be talking about real life applications, construction, flooring you home, painting walls and many more the students will come up with as well. 6th grade will make Square Root Posters for the middle school hallway. Working on posters which explain the process helps to cement the lesson in their minds. We have already posted their GCF work on the walls and presented them to our class...great work!

7th grade will continue working on decimals, both multiplication and dividing of decimals. They will wrap up their shopping lists using real life application of decimals (prices and money).
8th grade is a bit short due to a bug that has hit the students so this week will also be a review and more in depth look at decimals. We will also work on the multiplication and dividing of decimals and complete our shopping lists onto a table.
Calling all hands on deck!!!!! We need Fall Festival workers to man our "Topsy Turvy Cake Walk". Please email me at : houstonhartman@gmail.com. I need coverage from 11:45 to 4:30 to help with clean up. Thank you!
Hope everyone feels better soon!
Mrs. Hartman
