November 7, 2011

Tea Time at Redd's Middle School! Hot cocoa and a yummy variety of baked treats were enjoyed by all this past Friday...we do have fun!
Octoberfest at the Hampton Senior Center! The Community Service Club dressed up and had a wonderful time volunteering at the Senior Center with our favorite senior citizens. Students and Seniors alike enjoy the interaction with one another!

6th grade will continue work with fractions. Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division of fractions are on the lesson scope for this week. 6th graders will be presenting a Math PPT to their peers this Friday. They have been working on them last week and it has helped solidify their concepts of absolute values and negative numbers.

7th grade will begin work with integers, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using number lines. Students will also explore reasons for negative numbers and have a PPT project to present their findings of real life applications.

8th grade will work on Coordinate Planes and plotting points on graphs. We will incorporate computer graphing and spreadsheets in their lessons.

Have a great November!

Mrs. Janet Hartman
