We had a wonderful Open House this past Thursday! I had the opportunity to speak with several middle school parents and I was happy to see the great turnout. My 7th grade homeroom will be hosting the Fall Festival Cake Walk Booth. We will be asking parents to bake cakes for the Cake Walk and help tend the booth. Please contact me if you would like to volunteer to help with the booth.
This week we will continue our work on Prime Factorization with a Quiz on Tuesday. 6th grade will begin work on Common Factors and Multiples. 7th and 8th will work on decimal multiplication/division, in addition to our next unit in the Pre-Algebra textbook. If we feel confident with Prime Factorization, 8th will move on to Order of Operation.
Egyptian Art will paint their scarabs and anhks on Friday and we have some very talented artist at work! Computer Science for the 6th and 8th grade will work on their Essay/Word Doc from their current event articles and research piece. Once we have finished the word doc essay with the Works Cited page, the power point presentation work will begin. this will all come together in an oral presentation to peers and I will be inviting the principal, Mrs. LeBlanc to view our presentations.
